ピカ☆☆ンチ DOUBLE

Five years ago Arashi –嵐 – came out with this hit single ピカ☆☆ンチ DOUBLE. I had been unable to find lyrics for this song until this morning.

What’s ピカ☆ンチ? I don’t hear that in the song. Here’s the chorus:

終わったはずの夢がまだ 僕らの背中に迫る 刻まれた想い出が騒ぎ出す
owatta hazu no yume ga mada bokura no senaka ni semaru kizamareta omoide ga sawagidasu
限られた愛と時間を 両手に抱きしめる せめて今日だけは消えないで
kagirareta ai to jikan wo ryoute ni dakishimeru semete kyou dake wa kienai

English translation:

Pressing upon our backs once again is this dream that should have ended
These cut up memories start to cause a ruckus
I hold this confined love and time close with both arms
At least for today don’t disappear

Storming in at # 1

We decided to check the daily Oricon chart this morning. Arashi has the # 1 hit in Japan today. It’s the upbeat 「明日の記憶/Crazy Moon~キミ・ハ・ムテキ~」 – “Ashita no Kioku/Crazy Moon Kimi wa Muteki.”

Band members are  award winning actor Jun Matsumoto -松本潤, Kazunari Ninomiya – 二宮和也 (who starred in Clint Eastwood’s film “Letters from Iwo Jima”), Masaki Aiba –相葉雅紀, Satoshi Ohno –大野 智, and Shō Sakurai – 櫻井翔.

Dave’s notes: I don’t know much about these Johnny’s boy bands but I like this catchy tune from the group whose name means “storm.” I’m thinking the title includes a B-side.
